I think Lance and Clair are about 20's, Bugsy seems REALLY young!
Huh. I've always thought Giovanni to be the same ages around all the plots- Mato's style emphasizes a more cartoony, cute, kiddy look to ALL the characters. I think he's in his 40's?
Also, if you see the picture of him and Silver (the warehouse pic, when Silver's just like two), it shows him with quite a different hairdo and less receding hairline. Based on the hair/expanding scalp sickness, I would put him on mid forties.
Yeah. If he had Silver in his twenties, he'd be older thirties when the Special starts.
The art is a cultural aspect though. Especially in changing times, the old are respected, but it's more considered the young who have the main roles and who do stuff. I'm not sure about the Western audience, but here, drawing him as older would have made him less of a formidable character. Drawing Giovanni as a younger person actually makes him seem a more dangerous and more powerful character.
Aye, whose real identity as Pryce is supposed to be a major plottwist coverup! I don't know, but I certainly wasn't expecting that! It just seems that now, if you're old you're treated as such. And people are wondering about plastic surgery boom!
I think that Lance's age in the manga showed him as an idealistic (crazy) young man who has a (crazy) vision for a new and better world- he's portrayed as a world-shaker, a mountain-movie, and I agree- heck he was intimidating to me!
Well, there's also the differences in Giovanni's control as well. In the games and Special, he probably started the Team, wheras in the show, we know he didn't.
...which you'd think would mean he'd be younger in the timeline where he inherited it, but I guess his mother's a fighter. Or it took him that long to prove himself to her (or alternatly, to put out the hit, but I digress).
Oh, yes, I am! The Velveteen=La Velventine! XD That's how I got here! I just made this account to join the R100, in fact. Out of curiosity, how? I've only just finished this image a few hours ago!
I would read that! Now I'm curious about how exactly she did perish (and whether or not an ambitious and impatient son had any finger in it).
I recognised the woman in the icon, since you didn't give her a name in your art thread, just that she was an executive (with *huge* boobs) with a close relationship with Gio.
Although given Domino's reaction to Pearl in the first few fics, I was expecting her to be at least festively plump.
And yay, people are joining just for this? That's awesome!
....Ahhh....!! Um! Well, that's Pearl. ^^" I didn't think it was important to mention background information on the character when displaying a picture.
She is actually very fat! Very fat! I had a hard enough time fitting oversized bosoms into Mato's art style, let alone her overweight body type (she actually would be considered very overweight if she were real). I have a few semi-nudes of her that I use for reference where I can actually portray her body type but due to limits on nudity I never posted them on Bulbagarden or DA.
^^" Ooo, I did! I wouldn't have even looked at LJ otherwise, except for to join here.

They're not Team leaders though, they're Gym leaders.
Well, with Gio, Sugimori draws him looking younger too, especially in the redesigned art from the remakes.

And then there's the art style.

However, it did kinda make Lance more intimidating, given that he seems to be early 20s in Special (as opposed to late 20s/early 30s on the show).

Or she died! I actually think he'd still be the same age, since he seems to have been in control for quite a while. Who knows!

In my ficverse, she was--actually, I should make a post about that, about personal fic backgrounds.
