Heading through to Glasgow makes me happy! It reminds me of when I did that. What’s the All Under One Banner march? I guess I’ll find out when I get to your post about it lol.
All Under One Banner is an organisation that organises marches and rallies for Scottish independence. They usually organise several marches each year in various towns and cities in Scotland. My post about the one in Glasgow is here.
I love music, obviously, but I found some of the questions impossible to answer because they weren't relevant to the kind of music I like. I mean, "A song that reminds you of yourself?" What?!!
Actually, now that I think about it, I did manage to come up with an answer for that one!
I remember this one from when I was very wee. I'd only have been four or five when it was in the charts.
Oh! Thats an easy one, a song that reminds me of myself “talk too much” by Coin 😝
Isn’t it funny how we can recognize music / artists when we are itty bitty?
I use to crawl into my parents room and play my dads queen record then try to get it right back where he had it, that and seeing boy george on mtv are my earliest memories regarding music 💛
Yeah, totally. I was aware of music for as long as I can remember. My mother would have the radio on during the day and the songs they played would go round and round in my head. I was fascinated by melody and harmony and the way the notes interacted with one-another even though I didn't understand what I was hearing until I was a lot older.
Queen were one of my favourite bands in the 1970s. I remember hearing Now I'm Here and The Seven Seas of Rhye on the radio when they were in the charts, and loving them. My dad worked in Nigeria for a year and he brought home a cassette of Sheer Heart Attack, which I think was their third album, and it must have got played on the music centre thousands of times. Their music was so original, complex and heavy and there's never been another band that's sounded anything like them. When you look at the generic crap that's popular now, it's hard to believe there was a time when every record Queen released got to the top of the charts.
Fun quiz especially this question. The first song that came to my mind was Angela by The Lumineers. If I looked through my spotify I would probably change my mind multiple times.
That was the first song that came into my mind without me really thinking about it. I'm sure there'll be loads of songs with people's names in my music library, but I think I have at least 3,000 songs on my hard-drive, so it would take me hours to scroll through them all.
Sometimes a quiz is just the thing on LiveJournal. They give you a reason to write about something that isn't just mundane daily-life things. I'll have to see if I can dig out some more of them.
I'm not familiar with The Lumineers so I went to play the song you mentioned on YouTube, but it's not letting me play it unless I delete my ad-blocker. Obviously I won't be doing that. 😡 The adverts are longer than the videos now!
