The Floral Clock

My friend Elaine came through to Edinburgh today as she and her husband David were going to see the Manic Street Preachers and Suede, who were playing at Edinburgh Castle in the evening. It's certainly a well-known landmark of Edinburgh, though having lived here since 1993, I tend to pass it by without noticing it's there. That was the first time in ages that I've had a proper look at it.

It is, but I think everything looks much more beautiful in the sunshine. I suppose having entire summers with no sunshine at all as we frequently do*, we tend to appreciate sunshine all the more on the rare occasions when we do get it!

*I'm exaggerating very, very slightly. We've had about three sunny days so far this year. It's totally pissing down again as I type this!
