A circa-late-1960s photo of Edinburgh High Street at the Netherbow Port, just around the corner from where I've lived for the past 12 years. When I was wee, the High Street was a very shabby, run-down place with boarded-up buildings, and the large gap-site between Niddry Street and Blackfriars Street that existed for years and is now occupied by the Radisson Blu (formerly the Scandic Crown) Hotel. It's all quite different now. Seen on Facebook today.

1990 was a brilliant year for music. Tons and tons of classic songs. I love this song and this video. Seeing it again reminds me of how important music videos used to be, and how much they defined particular bands, periods and genres of music. All that has completely gone now; maybe the younger generation - who are more in touch with what's happening nowadays - will have a different opinion, but for me the visual aspect is no longer of any relevance, and I can't remember the last time I saw a memorable music video. There were plenty of them in the 1980s and early '90s though.
