Thanks! I probably should have also put Plato on that "I should just be glad I reached 45" list. It wasn't the longest thing I read, but it was the most difficult. Honestly, I didn't retain much of it at all...

I think I read about 45 or 46 books last year, too. It just seems to be the number I get when I don't try too hard to reach fifty.

Well, Proust and Faulkner are tough reads, too! I'd say you did pretty well.

Faulkner... Ugh! I kind of hated The Sound and the Fury. Are all copies pieced together from his notes, or just the one I have? I found the book so incomprehensible at times that I wanted to throw it against the wall!
