It depresses me that the U.S. can't get a real news organization. I like to think that people in the U.S. are just stupid, but then I realize that people care about what they know about. If the news media actually took the time to do their jobs rather than being lazy, this country would be a very different place. Instead I hear stories about some new blonde rich kid as vanished in Mexico on spring break.

I will have to play this drinking game, it will allow me to drown my sorrows very quickly and remind me why I am drinking.

I think the news media does their job, which is to be entertaining enough to generate viewers to drive advertising revenues for the 3 global corporations who control what, 80% of the outlets that pass for news these days?

I've been watching CNN's decline from the online perspective. CNN used to be one of my regular online news sources. Then I gradually watched it change into something else, something disturbing and sensationalist. I stopped reading regularly last January, and made this post at the time. Now I periodically hit the site just to chuckle sadly at the headlines. They word the serious headlines in a tabloid fashion, and they feature stories as headlines that they wouldn't have touched with a ten foot pole five years ago.
