Sadly, I haven't worked on it since the move. Been too busy getting reorganized and mostly using cleaner media than soft pastels. I should, and once we get past this rain I'll do some more on it.
At least the long delay is doing what it always does -- I know it will come out a ton better for it because I've had some practice now on smaller simpler things and that class that opened my eyes on pasteling. I know how to fix the background now so it won't be royal blue in the final version!
It's supposed to look like dark holly or some other hedge type of bush, the dark greens bushes. I will get it to that.
Thanks for mentioning it. I've got October coming up and that is always an art month.
Also, thank you for the reminder. I do need reminders sometimes, because you can imagine how disorganized I get. I have pretty serious memory symptoms and if something isn't exactly in reach with all its supplies in reach then it only gets worked on... on good days or the next time I reorganize my stuff and put it in reach.
What I'm going to do next is reorganize and put the Mont Marte pastels in reach on the table. That will do more for continued progress than anything else -- that and putting it on the drawing board that's over by the table instead of off across the room. Small logistics like that can scupper anything, I've found.
Half of my good stuff is across the room in the taboret or on it. That used to be right next to me and now anything over there gets forgotten for weeks or months.
I moved here in May. I'm still unpacking and reorganizing. This gets so frustrating.
There, got that sorted out with what else I'm doing before Nanowrimo... I think I want to make it a big focus during artsomofo -- if you follow that group you'll see daily art through October
