Bad Kitty!

This morning around 7:35 I was putting on my socks and boots and looked over to see Taz playing with a 12-inch length of candle wicking. I yelled at him, clapped loudly to try to get him to leave it alone, all to no avail. Phil was closer to Taz, but by the time I could get Phil involved, Taz had run under the furniture, with the wick in his teeth ( Read more... )

my roommate's dog once ate a ball of twine and some maxi pads.
he ended up pooping it out...sorta.

her mother actually took to pulling the string out of his ass a few inches at a time and snipping it off with scissors.

dogs are dumb.

String can actually be dangerous in cats. It can snarl up in the intestines and cause nasty blockages. I had a friend whose cat ate embroidery floss and had to have surgery to remove it from the intestines. Not fun.

Our previous cats loved to hunt rubber bands. They would proudly put their "kill" in their food bowls. However, as far as we know, they never tried to eat the rubber bands, even though we were afraid they would.

Rubber and elastic seem to act like catnip with the cats we've had. Rubber bands, kitchen gloves, my wrist brace with all the elastic wrappings. The cats love playing with these things as if they were rodents, holding the object in their mouth, giving a shake, and flipping it in the air over their head.

Years ago, after my girlfriend had spent the night, we were walking our dogs when my dog pooped out something...different than usual. Closer inspection revealed it to be my condom from the night before.
