It was an interesting week in Alberta hockey. Whilst watching the Flames beat-down Phoenix* at the Saddledome on Monday night, the crowd starting chanting 'Gretzkyyyy, Gretzkyyyy' just like they would a goalie. Come on, who boo's Gretzky? Embarassing. The next day Ryan Smyth is traded to New York. The day after that, Smyth is blubbering and crying on TV...aww, poor guy. That night, the Oilers play the lesser team of Gretzky's Phoenix Coyotes. The Oilers looked great in those vintage uniforms and all sweet with the retiring of Messier's jersey....but in the end, without Smyth, got shut-out by a shitty team.
Hey - maybe they'll resign dude in the summer when he's a free agent! The 'experts' say the Oilers should have worked around a star on the ice & in the community like Smyth just like Calgary did with Iggy. I concur. Rob, you should send Lindy a email so you can share in your mutual grief & disgust.
Danielle *I would like to point out that the Flames only looked good against a crap team. Man, they played like shit in Feb.

40 below in March?! Jesus.
I thought 2 degrees in March was cold. I am well and truly climatised... I don't know if my delicate english complexion could take another Canadian winter.

I know you'd be offended by that, except you don't like footie either.
