She Is As The Factory Made Her, Sir.

Someday, I will stop using quotes from the Bender the Offender episode of Futurama. Today is not that day because it still amuses me to no end.

So things that I have been watching that I inexplicably enjoy:

  • Person of Interest - I really thought I wouldn't like it because I find that Jim Caviezel is the actorly equivalent of beige and tends to put ( Read more... )
  • dorkstar, (un)biased tv show reviews, oh my life!, (un)biased movie reviews

Quite frankly, I'm on the house's side and can't wait to see what it'll do to everyone next.

You and me both. This is shaping up to be my guilty pleasure show for the season.

Oh, God, me too. I knew I was going to love this show from the opening moments with the twins in their awful '70s clothes and haircuts. I can't wait for the Halloween two-parter.

I was skeptical of Winstead's casting as well, but she works well with this cast! She's not really supposed to be like Ripley so I have no idea where that comparison came from. I mean, she's smart and tough and scared, yes, but she's more of a scientist who sort of pieces all of this stuff together and figures out what the alien is up to. She basically plays Blair from the original (the doctor who figures out that the thing is imitating other lifeforms, played by Wilford Brimley), but without the part where he goes crazy and gets locked in the shed and then gets taken over by the thing.

Seriously, though, I really enjoyed the prequel. And I'm saying this as someone who really, REALLY loves the original and tends to be critical of anything that messes with it. It did a good job in reflecting the original while standing on its own.

SHE IS AWESOME. I love the actress, and I really liked how they wrote her in this movie.

I feel the same way about both Jim Caviezel and Person of Interest! I enjoyed the heck out of the first three episodes, but now have fallen behind. Must try to catch up!

I am honestly surprised that I am enjoying it so much! I only watched the first ep for Taraji, but the show itself is really keeping my interest with its little mysteries and the give-and-take between Reese and Finch.

Oh, I was wondering about The Thing! I will admit I have a hard time getting past the scene with the dogs...

And yay for new job! I was just told today that I have been 'hired' full-time temp until mid-December. Soooo, still making just above minimum wage, but at least I don't have to wonder every Friday if I should come back on Monday. Small steps. :D

Oh, the dog scene in the original upsets me every time, but I still love the movie like mad. The prequel thankfully doesn't have a scene like that, although it still has the dog being involved somehow.

Huzzah for being hired until mid-December! I hope they make it a more permanent thing when the end of your contract comes up. It's clear that they like you and want to keep you. :D
