I'm definitely in favor of adopting an already-housebroken dog. I don't know what kind, but at work the security guy has two Malamute mixes (I think) and they are so sweet! I think that's the same type of dog my cousin had when we were kids, and he was always nice too. And then yellow labs seem to be great dogs, too. For medium-sized choices, Cocker and Springer Spaniels are very smart dogs and seem to make great pets.

Yes, when I log on I try to read all the friends' postings I'm behind on. Last night I was tired though, so I just posted with the thought of reading later.

I wouldn't know what to do about a dog either, so I'm no help there. :) But collies are nice. Or a corgi. Or maybe a beagle.

My mom loves beagles. We had a beagle mix when I was growing up.

I've been so terribly on and off of LJ. There's finally an iOS app that doesn't drive me completely bananas, so I'm trying to read more again at least. So yeah, absent, I get.
