Crack Wank - Prediction for BSG season 4

Let me be clear that this is NOT a spoiler. This twisted little notion has been percolating in my twisted little mind for a while now, and it is based upon nothing but my own suspicions regarding past story elements and a few clips from the promotional trailers which appear to reinforce it. Until Ron Moore proves me wrong, I'll assume I just may be ( Read more... )

You and I think an awful lot alike. I have been pondering the same things lately. I never could have voiced it such as you have but you have put words to my thoughts.

I have never had much luck predicting the direction of the show (and I avoid spoilers if possible) and this all just feels too logical for RM...and thus I am certain he will throw us a curve that will prove us wrong.

I've occasionally pegged some story elements well before they occurred, but certainly not all of them. I'd LOVE it if RDM devises something totally original and unexpected...but I don't have as much faith in his ability to do so than I used to. He's been digging into the scifi cliche rulebook a little too much lately. Still, I won't be at all surprised if we're proved totally wrong about this prediction.

But it is funny how twisted minds think alike.

That is a brilliant bit of deductive reasoning, my friend. Wow. That would be dramatic. It takes kind of a throw away point (The Lower Demon) and brings it around. I love it.

The prophecies state things as they might be in stone but also tend to contradict earlier statements. Also the Scrolls seem to have been written by the Prophets of Bajor. This in very intriguing and am going to allow my dark crazy out of her box and gorge on this view of the upcoming series.

I'd really like it if the prophecies could somehow remain in a gray area for interpretation, allowing matters of faith to remain matters of faith; some could logically conclude the Book of Pythia was accurately prophetic, while others could also logically conclude that the Book of Pythia was historic with more recent events being merely self-fulfilling. We'll just have to see how simplistic Ron Moore wants to play it.
