The weekend in brief

It's back to the workaday world as well as the ongoing extra frustrations of auto registration, taxes, moving, etc. I'm busy beyond belief at work, but the past weekend made me so amazingly happy that I have to mention it in short ( Read more... )

i really really love seder. My family practiced many jewish rituals when i was a child, as they felt that the old testament was as important as the new testament and so we incorporated those rituals into our lives - very odd for a fundie christian home, but that's how things went down.

I still love seder to this day though -- my favorite.

We also did a 40 day recreation of the 40 year "wandering the desert" in the middle of summer in TX. Also a recreation every year of the plagues and flight out of egypt...and of Job and Esther and Jehosephat

the pastor of the church was well versed in Hebrew and Greek and spent most of sermon time deconstructing old testament books of the bible verse by verse.

I know the bible better than most christians i know

You might be interested to know that Wikipedia reports that passover seder is becoming more common in evangelical households, and for the reasons you mention.

Ha ha. Actually, The Alameda is different from Alameda. The former is a district of San Jose; the latter is a town on the east side of the San Francisco Bay.
