The cobbler had managed to save the shoes. Hermione would have to owl Lavender soon about that promised dinner because she honestly hadn't even considered having the shoes repaired by a professional. The heel felt normal, without that oddness that had accompanied her charm to fix it temporarily.
After she left Roland's, she glanced at the sky and made a face. The storms were starting to getting annoying now. She didn't mind rain or even storms for a couple of days, but the threat of hail and heavy rain made it difficult to get errands done, magic or not. She was glad that there was at least a bit of a lull right now because she wanted to stop in at the bookshop before she went home.
She started walking and noticed Hestia Jones along the way. "Hello, Hestia," she greeted with a smile. "Managing to stay dry, I hope?"
Hestia started a bit from her wonderings at the sound of her name. "Oh, hello Hermione! Yes, and I've got my Impervius charms all in place, just in case it starts up again. What brings you to Diagon Alley today?"
"I had to pick up a pair of shoes," she said. "It seemed a good time to get a few errands done, even if the weather isn't exactly pleasant. Of course, I might just be using it as an excuse to go shopping for books, since I tend to accept any excuse for that that I can find. How are you?"
Hestia nodded. "I was thinking about getting a book myself," she said. "Oh, I'm fine, thank you. Enjoying my day off, despite the weather. How are you? And Ron and Harry? They're both doing well, I assume?"
