Kevin was chewing on his own roll when he stopped everything he was doing, staring at his date. Oh.. He started to chew again, very slowly, while he watched for more of her reactions to their food. His cheeks flushed and he rubbed his thigh in an attempt to shake off the nervosity.

"Okay, and next time maybe I can cook for you instead?" he offered, smiling. "I.." Kevin breathed in and kissed her cheek, unwilling to let her go even though they had to work the next day. "I had a lot of fun tonight."

"I did too, Kevin," she said, fighting the urge to touch her cheek. "Good night."

She turned and reluctantly walked back to her house. No doubt everyone was going to ask just why she had a smile permanently plastered to her normally placid face. Let them wonder; this was the sort of secret that Padma wanted to keep to herself for awhile.
