Date: 21 July 1999 Characters: Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley Location: Chinese restaurant in London Status: Private Summary: Harry and Ginny catch up. Completion: Incomplete
Ginny glanced down one last time at the directions Harry had sent. When she rounded the next corner, she saw the Lucky Garden restaurant, Harry's choice. She saw him waiting outside, and she held up her hand to wave.
"Hey Harry," she said and gave him a quick hug. "Good to see you."
Harry grinned and returned Ginny's hug. She looked happy, which was good to see. "Good to see you too, Gin. It's been bloody ages, I know. How'd NEWTs go?"
He moved to grab the door for her. "I took a chance that you'd like Chinese," he said as they went in. "Between the Burrow and Hogwarts, I've never seen you eating it before."
"I think I did well," she answered. "Studied bloody hard enough for them. Suppose I'll know soon enough."
She thanked him when he opened the door for her. She stepped inside and turned to him. "I've had Chinese a few times, and I like it. Good pick," she said with a smile. "How've you been?"
"The waiting is the worst bit," he commiserated. "It's sort of like everything's up in the air until you know how you did."
He smiled and walked with her behind the hostess to a table. "Busy, mostly," he said as he took a seat across from her and they were handed menus. "It's not even often I get to see friends, to be honest, so I'm glad we could do this. Training's rough, but I like it."
