The book club meeting had been interesting. Hermione was glad that it had gone well. It was the first public effort for The Association in a way that could possibly let them see how the Community Centre might be received. There had been a reasonable crowd and people had engaged in a lively discussion.

After the meeting was over, several people headed to the Leaky Cauldron. She followed along so she could congratulate Eloise before she went home. She hadn't had dinner yet, and she wanted time to see Harry before bed. Still, she had time to speak with Eloise before she left.

When she entered the pub, she walked over to Eloise and smiled. "Congratulations, Eloise. The meeting seemed to go very well."

Eloise smiled at Hermione. "Thanks, Hermione. I was pretty pleased, anyway. Did you enjoy yourself?" She had ordered a butterbeer and took a sip, pleased that she'd eaten thanks to Wayne before things had gotten started.

"You should be pleased. You did a fantastic job," she said honestly. "I was glad to see so many people turn out, too. Fleur will be happy to hear about your success."

She nodded. "It was enjoyable. I always appreciate a good discussion."

"Thank you," she said blushing. "I didn't do much. People had a good deal to say about the topic, which was really nice." Eloise hadn't been sure what to expect, and if people would have actually read the book or not.

"How are you, Hermione? We still need to try and set up our weekly lunches. I think we've both been too busy," she said sadly.

Anthony had sped through the book Eloise had suggested to him, and had, to his delight and surprise, enjoyed it. He'd not read much Muggle literature before, and had had dubious expectations about a book that purported to tell Muggles what wizards were like.

The book club had gone off exceedingly well, and Anthony smiled to himself as he sat in the midst of the discussion group, watching and listening to Eloise lead it. She did a brilliant job. He'd just given her a brief nod and little smile as everyone was packing up to leave the bookshop, but he hoped to have a chance to say a proper hello to her at the Leaky afterwards.

And there she was, at a table by the bar, looking quite pleased with herself. He gave a tentative wave as he headed in her direction.

Eloise waved back to Anthony, smiling widely. "Hey! I'm glad you were able to make it tonight." She hadn't been sure he would actually come, but their conversation had gone so well last weekend she'd really hoped he would. Plus, this was the sort of thing he would really like.

Anthony grinned back. This wasn't going to be so hard, being friends again. Already Eloise was acting like nothing had ever happened to separate them.

"Me, too," he admitted. He hadn't had much to say in the discussion, preferring, instead, to mostly listen. At least this first time. Next time, though, he suspected he'd be a bigger part of the discussion, if his introverted qualities didn't kick in again. He had plenty of thoughts about the book, but there had been a lot of people there whom Anthony didn't know.

"I know I was a bit quiet," he continued, "but I enjoyed myself. You did a fine job leading the group."

"Thanks, Anthony. The talking isn't for everyone, but I'm sure you'll have something to say eventually," she teased.

"How was work?"

The book club was a great idea, Terry thought as the group's first meeting disbanded and they headed to the Leaky Cauldron for drinks. Everyone seemed to have done a lot of thinking about the book, which made for a very lively discussion.

Entering the Leaky Cauldron, he saw Hermione, Anthony and Eloise and waved to each of them, then asked the bar man for a pint of ale.

Eloise spotted Terry and waved as he came in. Moving towards him, she grinned. "Hey ex-roomie. How are you?" She wrapped her arms around him in a quick hug and looked him over critically. "Not missing any body parts from your job, I see. Good work."

Eloise came over to greet him with a big grin. When she hugged him, Terry hugged back.

"Hey yourself. 'm pretty good," he said, not missing the way she seemed to be examining him to make sure he was all in one piece. "Nope, I've not managed to lose so much as an eyelash so far. Good work yourself. That book was a great choice for opening the book club."

"Thanks, Terry. You're sweet to say that."

"Work going well, then?" she asked, shifting from one foot to the other and trying not to feel weird being the center of everyone's attention. It was unnerving.

"Hiya, everyone!" Mandy said, smiling brightly, entering the Leaky Cauldron after work. "I'm sorry I didn't make your discussion, Eloise," she continued. "Stayed late at work. Again. At any rate, I did enjoy the book. Quite interesting. I'm already looking forward to the next meeting. I promise I won't skip that one!"

"Hey Mandy, glad you could come," she smiled. "Better late than never, right?"

"Thanks, Eloise. How did the chat go? I really liked the book. It's one Muggle book I'd not read before," Mandy said with a smile. "I'll have to make more of an effort to get there on time for the next one. Have you a list of the books you're planning on for other times or am I jumping ahead?"

"No list just yet, but I'll make sure to add you to the mailing list," she smiled. "The discussion was pretty good. People seemed to enjoy the book, anyway."

Penny had read The Wizard of Oz before but not for many years. She had enjoyed re-reading it as an adult and the discussion had been very interesting. Hearing how different other people's interpretations could be was fascinating.

Drinks afterwards had been a great idea too, even if she would be sticking to Butterbeer. Penny finally managed to get the barman's attention enough to order her drink and went to sit with the others.

"Busy in here tonight, isn't it?" Penny smiled.

Angelina was one of the last ones to enter the Leaky Cauldron. She wandered up to the bar and ordered a drink, then she walked over to stand by Penny.

"Did you enjoy it?" she asked. "I thought the discussion was fascinating. Especially from a non-Muggle's point of view. Besides, I've always loved the story."

"I did enjoy it, I'm glad I came," Penny smiled up at Angelina. It had been a good way to take her mind off of the interview she had taken that morning.

"It's always fun to hear how other people view things. I first read it when I was at Primary school. I can remember sitting in the library on a rainy playtime, reading about Oz."

Penny smiled as she remembered. Re-reading a book always took her right back to where she had been when she first read it.

"How was work today then? Busy?"

"It wasn't too busy today," she admitted. "We had time to mix up a few new things. One batch completely failed, but it was fun to try." She laughed thinking about the blue batter that had taken her fifteen minutes to clean from the ceiling--with her wand.

"Have you heard anything from the Ministry yet? Did they get your application?"
