Marcus left Best Brooms on Diagon Alley with the distinct impression the interview had gone quite well. The owner, Mr Best, had seemed happy to see him and had led him to the rooms behind the shop. Marcus had looked around curiously as they passed by brooms in various states of repair and construction on work benches. Mr Best had interviewed him in the office right at the back of the building. Marcus had answered questions, trying to seem keen. The fact that he had managed to fix his own broom seemed to impress Mr Best and Marcus was hopeful that he might get the job. He didn't really fancy the two to three years apprenticeship but he would be leaving soon once he got back to playing Quidditch. He didn't tell Mr Best that, of course.
Marcus made his way through the crowds down Diagon Alley and decided to stop off for some ice cream. He deserved it. He started to enjoy the warm day and the idea of being back in work. At least it was something interesting this time. His last job might have been related to Quidditch but when it came down to it, it was just selling things. This would involve learning how to fix brooms, even the more complex problems, and learning how to make brooms. Marcus was actually looking forwards to it. That was assuming he got the job.
