The week had been easy so far. Pansy was fairly certain people didn't want to start planning anything fun with the anniversary so close. The office had been almost empty, save the few previously scheduled appointments for larger events.

After the day finished, Pansy felt the urge to have ice cream for dinner. No, it wasn't a healthy choice, but she didn't really care at the moment.

Sitting at a table near the door of Flavours, Pansy took a bite of her sundae when she noticed Marcus enter the shop. Waving, she pointed to the seat across from her and waited to see if he wanted to join her. He wasn't always the most personable, but looked to be in a fair mood.

Marcus was glad to see someone he recognised, it was better than sitting on his own. He made his way over to Pansy and sat in the seat she had pointed to.

"Hi, Pansy. Had a good day?" Marcus asked. Her sundae looked nice but he wanted something chocolatey.

"Yes, thank you. It was quiet and rather dull, though. Not that I can complain much about that. How are you doing? Still working at the supply shop?" Pansy thought she remembered that being his job, anyway.

"Are you planning to get something, or just stare longingly at mine," she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Bugger. Pansy obviously hadn't heard about him being fired from Quality Quidditch Supplies. On one hand that was a good thing, but it meant he had to tell her. Well, he didn't have to tell her.

"Er . . . I left there. I just had an interview at Best Brooms, for an apprentice broom maker."

It wasn't a lie, he just left part of the story out.

"I'm thinking of something chocolate," Marcus said, trying to attract a waitress.
