Edward pointed his wand at the two deck chairs he'd taken from his porch back at the house, bringing them up to full size. He took a bottle of butterbeer from the basket Margaret had brought and settled into the seat. Margaret was off being a busybody, bless her, but for now he was content to sit and watch the happenings.
The flowers had come up nicely, he thought, and between that and the sound of the water in the fountain it was a nice place to sit and remember. Might have taken ages to finally build it, but the likeness of the boy, and the flat stone bearing the names of everyone who'd been lost during the battle and the whole war, had turned out lovely. The rest of the park was for playing and picnicking, but this spot, right by the memorial, was for reflecting. Not on anything he'd done himself, as he'd been in no shape to go into Hogwarts with the rest of the village. Didn't mean he couldn't sit for a moment and be thankful to the young people who'd fought.
There'd be broomstick racing later, and the chocolate Easter eggs from Honeydukes were hidden carefully all over the park. He smiled; from here he could hear the children, some of them his own grandchildren, laughing in anticipation of the hunt. Reaching into his basket again, he pulled out one of the eggs and unwrapped it to indulge in a bit of chocolate himself.
