The ballroom looked amazing. The decorations were elegant, the candles were in place, the tables were arranged, the flowers were beautiful, and the dance floor was inviting. The musicians had already arrived and were on the stage in the dance floor area practicing and preparing for the main event. Lee had found several good bands to choose from, and Andy was pleased with their selection. They knew both Muggle and wizarding music, and it was played very well.

The staff were in the small kitchen area to the right of the congregation hall, tucked away from site and protected with silencing charms on their work station. She made sure that a charm was in place to prevent the room from smelling like food, too, because that wouldn't be enjoyable for most people. There was a small bar set up in the front corner of the congregation hall, though she knew most drinks would be served from the kitchen space. It looked nice and would be adequate for immediate serving, which was what was desired.

She had arrived at six, which was probably not something Draco had planned on when first inviting her, but she'd let him wander off while she took care of last minute details. Arthur had a family, after all, so she had volunteered to do this part of the job. She had taken Teddy to stay with Esther, since the last time had gone alright, and she knew that she'd likely be exhausted and drained once this was over, so she was content knowing that he'd be properly taken care of this evening.

The awards ceremony would be the most draining, for her and for others who had lost loved ones in the war, but she understood why it was necessary. That didn't make it any easier, of course. With so many receiving a Cross of Percival, it would take time to get them handed out, but she had taken that into consideration when organizing. From seven to eight, guests could arrive and begin dancing or eat. There would be awards announced from eight to nine, or possibly earlier if Kingsley spoke quickly and people were quick about things. Then there would be more dancing and eating from nine until the guests went home. The ballroom had been let until one in the morning, just to provide enough time for people to really enjoy themselves, though she wasn't concerned about too many staying after midnight.

It was half-six now, and she expected that some guests would begin arriving any moment now. She smoothed down the skirt of her dress and fussed with the material that was draped over her shoulder before she determined that she was ready to greet guests as they arrived and begin playing her part.
