Hannah had spent her morning at the hospital. She had been asked to come because the Midwitches were busy and Hannah was a star with the kids plus they didn't need a lot of medical supervision right now.

Coming home around 2 o'clock after lunch in London and after she had picked up the dress from the dry cleaners, she hung the bag up at her wardrobe and looked at it.

It was a pretty dress she had gotten a few years before when her maternal grandparents celebrated a wedding anniversary. Hannah had picked it up a few days ago after work and tried it on in her bedroom at home to see if it still fit. It was actually too loose around the hips. Hannah had sighed and used a tailoring Charm. It looked pretty fine from what she could have told. But the trip to the dry cleaners had been unavoidable.

Hannah had counted her savings and decided to get a pretty wrap. The anniversary party of her grandparents had been in summer, so she had used worn a fabric belt with the white corset and the swinging gray skirt but now was October and even if the ball took place indoors, the room would be cooler than the warm summer night. The wrap was a shimmering yellow, almost gold that really looked good with her hair.

She removed the plastic of the cleaner and laid out her prettiest knickers and the strapless bra she owned. She shortly wondered about nylons and decided in favor. Never been the one for high heels, she had pulled out her old white ballet shoes and charmed them to clean and repair.

After showering she pulled her hair into a pony tail, so the curls would straighten up a bit and look not as wild for the messy chignon she planned to wear. Slipping into the dress, she let her curls loose, satisfied how they are tamed a bit and started to pin the strands to the head. She only used minimal makeup knowing that the dress was the highlight today. No jewelry either, she decided on the whim, only the ring. It even matched her skirt with the stone set in it. Skipping a step or two, she went to put on her shoes.

There, all ready. Hannah was ready for Ernie to arrive. As if on cue, the door bell rang. Ignoring Morag and Anthony, she went to open the door.
