Harry Apparated to Diagon Alley, rolling his shoulders. His arm hurt where one of Malfoy's bloody hexes had struck it. He hoped his own hexes had left an impression on Malfoy. "Wanker," he muttered, rolling his shoulders again as he looked down the street. Hopefully no one would notice where his shirt was ripped.
Normally, he'd be headed home after defence lessons with Malfoy, but it had occurred to him after seeing Katie today in class that he only had one day left to get her a gift. His stomach growled, and he knew he ought to make this fast, but somehow he doubted that choosing a gift would be very easy. It never was, for Harry. Gift-getting involved shopping, and shopping didn't exactly come naturally to him. But he was looking forward to Katie's party, and wasn't about to show up empty-handed or anything. Katie was a good friend, who deserved a great birthday.
He just had no idea what she had, or what she'd want. Luckily, some stores were still open, and he could maybe run into Quality Quidditch and see if they had anything new to pick up. It was a bit rainy, and he put his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt as he walked over the pavement.
