RP: A Visitor for Dinner

Harry ducked into the dining room to check if the table was set. It had been, of course; Kreacher had seen to it before any of them could even get to it. Hermione would be none too pleased about that, Harry mused, but she was upstairs at the moment and might assume that he or Ron had set the table when she came downstairs. Of course, neither of them could fold a napkin quite like that, so maybe not.
He chuckled and glanced at the clock; Stan was due to arrive at any moment. He was looking forward to it, really; seeing Stan at the Leaky Cauldron that day had been a jolt, and he remembered being taken back to the hellish flight from Privet Drive. Stan had been innocent, though, as Harry had always known, and seeing him now trying to put his life back together, as everyone was, reminded him of the toll the war had taken and how lucky they all were now to be here on the other side of it.
Kreacher had made lamb stew and fresh bread for dinner, and the delicious aroma was beginning to spread through the house. Harry knew the elf took a lot of pride in serving his guests, even if he muttered about most of them constantly. He chuckled and went to the kitchen to retrieve a flagon of pumpkin juice and bring it up to the dining room, taking a moment to notice the long, heavy table and the tapestries on the walls. Not really 'them' at all. They were definitely going to need to get started on the decorating soon.
