Eloise didn't think her birthday was really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but understood that people needed to celebrate their births for whatever reason. She enjoyed knowing she'd made it another year and everything, and knew that the people in her life were more likely to care about it than she was. Ron wanted to take her to dinner, so Eloise even let her mom take her shopping, picking out a dress that was a little shorter than she'd normally wear, but she thought looked nice. She'd even put on heels and done her hair. For the first time, she actually felt 20 years old.

Ron appeared just as she was putting in her earrings and Eloise grinned at him. "Hey."

Ron had barely entered the flat when he caught sight of Eloise. She'd styled her hair differently and was wearing a short dress and high heels.

"Wow." He grinned. "Happy birthday, gorgeous."

Crossing the room, he pulled her into a kiss. "I hope you're in the mood for Italian food tonight. Would you like your birthday present now or later?"

He'd shrunk the gift box, which contained a feminine, pale blue jumper, and tucked it inside his jacket.

Eloise blushed but smiled happily as Ron kissed her. "Thanks. You'll have to catch me if I topple over." She picked up her leg and pointed to her foot.

She shrugged. "Doesn't matter. You pick." Eloise was excited to go to dinner, but she wasn't in a huge rush, either.

"I reckon I can catch you, if need be," he said with a smirk. "All that Auror training'll come in handy."

"All right, then, happy birthday." Pulling a small box from inside his jacket, Ron tapped it with his wand, which brought the box back to its full size. "Hope you like it." And that it's the right size.
