Date: December 21, 1999. Characters: Hestia Jones, Adrian Pucey. Location: Belladonna Status: Public Summary: Hestia is adventurous. Completion: Complete
Adrian scanned the club to see if anyone was out and about. Merlin knew he'd never find Flint here, but maybe there would be someone decent to pass the time with. Everyone at the warehouse was flitting about, wrapping parcels on their lunch breaks and trying to be festive. He hated it.
He sipped at his Firewhiskey and noticed a familiar witch trying to look inconspicuous on the dance floor. Adrian circumnavigated a gaggle of witches who looked barely out of Hogwarts, one of which tried to pinch his arse as he went by. "Fancy meeting you here."
"Adrian!" Hestia said, feeling both relieved and embarrassed. She was glad she had someone friendly to talk with, but at the same time, it was a touch humiliating to see Adrian here when she was trying to look desirable and pull.
"How are you? Did you come with some friends?" She asked, leaning in to speak to him over the crowd. She attempted to cover up some of her cleavage as she spoke to him.
"I'm here at a very loud club several days before Christmas, watching the future of the Wizarding world act like that." He waved his hand at the gaggle of witches. "And how are you?" He moved his head in time to the music. He had to do something other than stand still on the dance floor.
"Friends? No, I'm here by myself. And you?" He looked around, but she appeared to be either alone or her friends had ducked off to the loo without her.
Hestia looked at the witches Adrian had gestured to and shook her head. "I fear for our future," she said solemnly. "I'm fine. Taking a break. I'm alone as well. This isn't really my scene, but I wanted to try something different," she explained.
"Well, not really. But we were rather more crafts-oriented than the other houses, I believe," Hestia admitted.
"Yes," she said. She wondered if he'd expect her to invite him up. She definitely wanted to invite him up, but this was all so new. "My flat isn't far." She took him by the hand and began to maneuver them off the dance floor and towards the exit.
"I find it hard to imagine a cluster of Slytherins plying their needles around the fire in the common room, that's for sure." He clasped her hand and together they made their way out into the chilly night.
"Lead on, then." Adrian cast a warming charm so they wouldn't freeze on their way to Hestia's flat. He'd need to plan a trip to the Southern Hemisphere soon. He hated British winters.
"Yes, I'd imagine there'd be much more blood in that scenario," Hestia said.
As they walked, Hestia tried to think of what to say. She wanted to know what he expected of her, of this...whatever it was. But they'd only snogged. It was far to early to be laying down the groundwork for a relationship.
She stopped under a street lamp and leaned up to kiss him. "I want you to spend the night," she said afterward, "but I don't know if that's a good idea."

"Lovely indeed." He pulled her in closer. "May I walk you home?"
