"Well, not really. But we were rather more crafts-oriented than the other houses, I believe," Hestia admitted.
"Yes," she said. She wondered if he'd expect her to invite him up. She definitely wanted to invite him up, but this was all so new. "My flat isn't far." She took him by the hand and began to maneuver them off the dance floor and towards the exit.
"I find it hard to imagine a cluster of Slytherins plying their needles around the fire in the common room, that's for sure." He clasped her hand and together they made their way out into the chilly night.
"Lead on, then." Adrian cast a warming charm so they wouldn't freeze on their way to Hestia's flat. He'd need to plan a trip to the Southern Hemisphere soon. He hated British winters.
"Yes, I'd imagine there'd be much more blood in that scenario," Hestia said.
As they walked, Hestia tried to think of what to say. She wanted to know what he expected of her, of this...whatever it was. But they'd only snogged. It was far to early to be laying down the groundwork for a relationship.
She stopped under a street lamp and leaned up to kiss him. "I want you to spend the night," she said afterward, "but I don't know if that's a good idea."
Adrian looked down at her. He'd only meant to walk her home, but he could see why she may have thought otherwise. He stroked a finger along her cheek. "I meant what I said. I wanted to see you safely home, nothing more." He kissed her nose. "Well, that's not entirely true, but I certainly didn't expect to be invited up."
"This is why I really want to invite you up," she murmured happily, "you're one of those rare decent blokes. Plus the fact that you're really really sexy doesn't hurt either."
Hestia smiled and let Adrian tug her along. He wasn't pushing her to invite him up, but he wasn't telling her it was a horrid idea either and she was grateful for that.
"So, what would you like for dinner on Boxing Day?" She asked happily.
"Something light, perhaps? Since Christmas dinner is sure to be heavy and sleep-inducing? I'm not sure what the elves have up their proverbial sleeves for this year, but it's bound to include potatoes and gravy."
"If I know what we're having for dinner, that will help me decide what to bring for dessert." He thought for a moment. "I'll bring some wine, too, if that's acceptable?"
"Yes," Hestia said thoughtfully. "I could grill some salmon and vegetables, how does that sound?" She made a mental note to pick up salmon on Sunday before the shops closed for the holidays. "Wine would be lovely. Thank you."
They'd come to her building and she turned to face him. "I'm so glad that you were there tonight," she said.
They'd stopped at what Adrian decided was her building. "Salmon and vegetables sounds wonderful. I'll bring wine from our cellar and stop at the bakery for dessert."
He tipped up her chin and kissed her. "I am too. Now get inside before my heating charm wears off." Adrian kissed her once more for good measure. "Happy Christmas and I'll see you Tuesday for dinner." He stepped away and made sure she was inside before Apparating away.
"Lovely indeed." He pulled her in closer. "May I walk you home?"

"Flattery will get you everywhere, including delivered safely to the door to your flat." He started walking down the street, tugging her along.
