I've been a bit off sushi since the food poisoning incident, but Do Want: sushi and opera.
Ido Sushi is a good place. For a while, Sunday evenings had Dan Daly, who used to play at Rose's Turn on Sunday happy hours, and it was fun; I believe Bronwyn Rucker is still doing her Shakespeare Soirees on Monday nights (songs, monologues, etc., with Shakespearean themes). Two days ago, I would have agreed with every point on your "Words Matter" post. Today, I am convinced not only that the right wing's winding up of deniable nutjobs to go out and kill left-wing figures is deliberate, but that it's not going to stop until the left ceases wringing its hands and calling for tolerance each time something happens to one of their own.

Why do I think that? Because this is not the first time, nor even the third time, that this has happened and the hatemongers were back to spewing bile the next day. Because this time, they didn't even wait until the next day: within hours of the incident, before people were certain Gifford was still alive, Tucson's Tea Party said straight out that they're not going to change a thing.
