I am really loving Team USA this year. They won't ever touch the '92 dream team (no team will ever be close), but I think this may be the best team the country has fielded since then. that '92 dream team was unbelievable. i'm almost wanting to cry "blasphemer!" for you even throwing out the NEW dream team in the post. but i think you redeemed yourself by blogging the first official use of the phrase "i'm hyped about bejing." and for getting elvis costello's i don't want to go to chelsea song stuck in my head. thanks.

haha! fc chelsea. that sounds so american, seriously, it's unbelievable.

"in other sports news fc bolton went down 3 and 0 to the manchester warriors."

i'm sorry, that just tickled me. it's just always been "chelsea" to me.

but i didn't realise they'd lost, i feel completely disconnected from current affairs in this country, in england you're bombarded with global and national news everywhere you go, here i'm lucky if i catch the 11oclock bbc news 24 deal.

who are the MLS all-stars? something league soccer? major league soccer perhaps? whoever they are, congratulations to them for beating the best and most hated team england has to offer.

Major League Soccer. MLS is the major American league, its 10 years old and its really starting to get a foothold. A lot of cities are building "soccer specific" stadiums, whereas in previous American soccer leagues they played in expanded football stadiums. and they beat chelsea. we have a baseball team just like chelsea- the new york yankees, in which the owner pays a ridiculous amount of money for the best players and doesnt even give other teams a chance to sign anybody. the yankees were ridiculously dominant in the 90s, but have really tapered off and may not even make the post season this year. I hope they dont, personally.
