I sent Dan to a sleep clinic to be checked for "the apnea" a couple of years back (he didn't have it). But YAY! for resolution! I think you will be amazed at the changes it will make. I once read an estimate by a sleep expert that something like 60% of pediatric ADHD and 35% of adult depression was due to lack of "good" sleep. Crazy hunh? And, hey, that's what insurance is for.

yeah, I slept pretty darn good once they got the pressure set right and found a mask that I wasn't allergic too. *headdesk* Gotta love being allergic to EVERYTHING. We'll see full results tomorrow when I sleep a full 8 or so hours with the mask in my own bed.

Did you get the humidifier(sp?) thingey to keep from getting dried out? You know, I swear my sinuses get clogged when I'm overtired too. I'm kind of hoping this sleep thing is the cause of everything that's vexing you and now that it's fixed it will all go away. *nods*

I do have the humidifier and let me tell you, it's love. Although, it takes my nose a few minutes to readjust after I get up. The air that comes into my nose is already warmed and moist, so my nose doesn't have to do anything!!!

That makes a lot of sense, based on the problems you have been having. Hopefully (probably) you'll sleep tons better once you have the machine.

Yeah, it's good. I love the sound of the machine. It's the perfect white noise pitch where you don't really hear it, but it's there and lulls you.

We'll see. Hopefully it won't bother you too much in PA. I don't know what the battery pack that I have to buy for it sounds like.

CPAP! (I hear about these at work all the time, but had never seen one.) I hope it helps. Are these considered permanent therapy, or will using one decrease symptoms over time?

It is the area of a laptop, but much taller. You'll see it in Chicago, I'm sure.

Um, I don't honestly know. My sleep technician has been on his for three years. So, we'll see!!

Yay for knowing and being able to improve the situation!

So I horribly misread your post at first and saw "CRAP machine" instead of "CPAP machine" which made me giggle like a ten year old for far longer than it should have.

LOL....Breathing through a CRAP machine would suck. But, it's funny and is making me giggle like a ten year old as well.
