Alright, to see who's still out there reading this mess, a question-

Which movies have just made you plain angry after seeing them?

By which, I mean- Which films have had you walking out of the theater a little pissed off, wondering how they got made? After seeing them on the Digital-Video-Disc, you took it out and just shook your head? You and a ( Read more... )

Sex and the City 2 and Avatar are two recent ones that come to mind, the former much so than the latter, but both of them because they were incredibly patronizing and borderline racist.

I'm sure I'll think of a better one later, but the most recent one is Skyline. There was nothing good about that experience.

And right now I'm watching Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and feeling a little bit of the anger. Maybe it's just displacement or projection or whatever and I'm upset with myself for watching a movie on Comedy Central in the middle of the day.

Maybe it's unfair to pick a movie that nobody really likes and few people even expected to be good, but I don't think I've ever been as pissed off at a movie as I was after I saw Blues Brothers 2000. Especially considering Aykroyd's self-righteous "If we give up now, the kids of today will be left with nothing but terrible music like techno and gangsta rap!" speech.

Oh god, right. I wasn't angry, there. I had a strong feeling it would be awful, so expectations were low. I think the Sam & Dave number helped.

Wait- no, I was kind of pissed. Especially because they just re-created so much from the first one and didn't really seem to have wanted to bother to make a new film. Just do a goddamn concert movie or something, then!

Okay, I'm back around to being a little mad at it, now.

There's Something About Mary
Looking for Richard
Watchmen (that's my #1 - what a complete shit movie)
Good Burger (I used to review movies for a local paper and they'd always send me to crap kiddie movies because I needed the money and never complained. This movie made me want to rip out theater seats and cry.)
