I rather like Firefox -- I got attached to tabbed browsing using Safari, and pounced when I heard Firefox had it. (I use Trillian for much the same reason, being able to pile chat windows into containers or whatever they're called.) I haven't tried Thunderbird, though. I access most of my email accounts through webmail instead of keeping stuff in one place. Maybe should try it again though.

How did you locate the spyware they were missing? My computer is working, but I can't help wondering.

I didn't find it; the guy at the shop did, apparently. I don't know what kind it was, but on the invoice it said that the computer had to be cleaned of spyware and Windows reinstalled. Dunno.

Yes, they will either (a) ditch continuity (most likely) or (b) think up some lame reason why he's gotten another 12 regenerations...

You might find you like Firefox better. I find it very easy to use, not to mention tabbing, which is wonderful. When I have to go back to using IE, I miss that function most of all.
