(ooc: o_o Aerith is coming in later~ I should have her come in with Tseng eheh XB <3 )

It wasn't easy, to hear that the President of Shinra had been nearly assassinated-- again. Yukari practically had a heart attack when the news said he was dead-- only to be relieved by being reassured by Vincent that he was indeed alive, and in a coma. Now that he was awake... well, she was determined to see him.

Dressed warm with a trench coat and boots for the cold weather, Yukari arrived at the hospital. A boquet crooked in one arm, she gave a friendly knock on Rufus' door before opening it a little and poked her head in. "Hello!" she gave the blond a bright, but worried smile before stepping in, and paused when the door shut behind her.

"...You look like death, darling," she commented after giving him a once over, setting the flowers on his lap and leaned in to give him a kiss on the forehead. "How..." she hesitated a moment. "How are you feeling?"

"That sounds about right," Yukari replied with a worried sigh, setting down her purse and pulled up a chair close to his side. Habitually, her manicured fingers lifted up to fix his hair into proper place. "Even if you feel terrible, you should still look like the handsome President you are," she smiled warmly at him. "Making the nurses faint will make you feel better too, I'm sure." After she was finished, her hand eventually slid down and gently closed around his.

"I hope they don't keep you here long..." she added with a frown. "Hospitals are depressing. You should be able to recover from the comfort of home, don't you think..?"

Yukari playing with his hair felt really good. Rufus closed his eyes, relaxing under her touch. A small contented sound escaped his lips as she brushed his hair into place. He felt a lot better not looking like a degenerate kid, but he couldn't ever manage to do his own hair without a mirror.

"Thank you," he said. "I'm sure the nurses will like it."

A small smile played at the corners of his lips as she expressed her concern. Recovering at home would be nice but, he was sure that plenty of people would have something to say about it if he went too far out of the doctor's reach. "Maybe. But I'm still sick," Rufus replied. "If I got worse..." It would be better to be close to the hospital.

(ooc: Finally! Elena gets too see Ruffles again! Even though it's not under the best circumstances.)
Elena's bright joy upon her return had been cut short when she had heard of the young president's condition. Leaving her drink behind, she had dashed to the nearest flower shop to pick up a bouquet of white carnations and then dashed to the hospital, and recieved his room number worried thoughts running through her mind.
After wondering through the hospital floors, honestly a bit lost, the girl finally came upon the room. Hesistating, she knocked on the door and peeked inside.
"...President Rufus?"

(ooc: OMG!!! LMAO! "RUFFLES?!" *dies*)

It seemed more than visitor was called for today. That voice sounded familiar. With a small smile, Rufus sat down the crossword puzzle he'd been trying to do and looked up at the door. Pushing his glasses a little further up on his nose, it took him a moment to comprehend what he was seeing. She was... she was back!

"'Lena?" he said. He hated the harshness of his too-quiet voice. This wasn't how he'd wanted to meet her again after so long. At least his words were more audible now. "When did you come back?"

ooc: yup! XD)
She was deeply relieved that he was awake, and that he recognized her. Although it was generally impossible for Rufus and weak to be in the same sentence, that was what he looked like at the moment.
Biting her lip, she walked to his side and gingerly took his hand.
'I just got back yesterday... How are you feeling?"

Gently, Rufus squeezed her hand, hoping she wouldn't notice the weak grip and the way it twitched slightly in hers. "Welcome back," he whispered, lifting her hand to his lips and pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it.

"Doctor says I'll survive." I hope. he added silently. The other blonde smiled for her benefit. Now that everybody was together again, it was time to look stronger than he felt until he became stronger than he felt. Rufus wasn't going to let anybody worry over him anymore.

[ooc: Am totally still on hiatus but this was itching at me and I should probably get it out of the way before my muse interrupts my work anymore. X_x]

Seto approved of the way Sephiroth ran things. The silver-haired man was a no-bullshit sort of guy and a rather intimidating one to boot. There was no beating around the bush, no sniveling little man behind a desk with tons of paperwork for him to sign. There was a simple yes or no answer, and though he expected it, Seto was pleased to receive the go-ahead.

Not wanting to be bothered by fangirl nurses or any members of the media that might draw inappropriate conclusions from his visit, the KaibaCorp CEO had dressed in a dark navy trenchcoat without his usual logo on his collar or on his belt. He wore dark, semi-transparent blue sunglasses over his eyes, therefore hiding his most recognizable feature and keeping any curious bystanders away from the sheer chill that radiated from his body. (When Seto Kaiba didn't want to be bothered, you could just tell from the air around him ( ... )

(ooc: Oy, let the lady work, Kaiba!)

That voice.

Rufus had figured Seto would show up sooner or later, if only to admonish him for not listening to him sooner. It wasn't a big surprise to see him, though Rufus had hoped he'd wait until he wasn't looking so weak and frail in a hospital room crowded with machines. Well, if the time was now, the blonde was prepared to admit his mistake.

"I see you're," he paused to stop the cough that wanted out, "your usual self." Dry. Supposedly witty. Teasing. Rufus pulled his glasses off his face to casually clean them, wondering if the other would notice he had them on for more than reading. He hoped not. The thought of getting into a discussion over exactly what this had cost him with Seto wasn't something that caused him to jump with joy.

If Seto noticed the glasses, he didn't mention it. He made no motion to remove his own sunglasses, despite the fact that he was inside and had been inside for quite a while. With the silent grace of a man half his size, the abnormally tall CEO moved over to the counter where Yukari's roses were tucked in the corner. He nonchalantly reached out with one hand to flip open the small little note that was attached to the roses' stems. "Fangirl?" he questioned, disdain clear in his voice.

He turned and glanced at the blond from over the rim of his sunglasses. "One would've thought that you died already." The words were said casually in an even, silky tone, but there was a sharp bite behind them. Did Seto himself not tell Rufus to stop relying on his Turks? In Kaiba's experience, nothing good ever came out of trusting too many people.

"A dear friend," he corrected, not liking Seto's tone at all. Why had he come here? Was it simply to be angry at Rufus for nearly getting himself killed?

"If you want me to admit I was wrong," Rufus began. He paused to take a small drink. "...I won't say otherwise. You were right." Blue eyes followed the other man's movements carefully, his hand feeling ready to lunge for the call button should Seto get out of hand. What was wrong with him, coming in and sounding like he was about to snap at a sick man?

How annoying.

It was almost becoming a bit of a habit for Agon to visit his boss. Not that he wanted to get involved too much but yet, the scumbag looked just really painfully sad and alone on that bed.
That bugged him...a small bit.

The people in the hospital started to reconize him and most of them didn't dare to call him back at points where he was bringing something prohibited into the building.
And it wasn't like Agon cared or something, but this time he decided that it would be amusing to bring Rufus a pie and this useless little dumb trinket he had laying around his room.

It had been the rich trash' stupid birthday, right?

"Aaaa...still bored, Shinra?" he drawled while nudging the door open. "...Next time you should ask bald trash to do a dance for you. Much more entertaining...not?"

Back... again? Aside from Rude and Sephiroth, Agon seemed to be his most frequent visitor. "Rude's not the best at dancing," he murmured. All of these people coming in and out was making his throat rather sore and his voice was starting to crack again. After Agon left, he'd have to ask the guards for a break in the line of visitors to his room.

Something smelled fantastically good though. Rufus' eyes moved instantly to Agon's hands, trying to figure out what that tantalizing scent was. "How are you?"

"Aaa...I heard it was your birthday..." Agon drawled, plopping a fresh applepie on the nightstand. "So I thought...why not be a nice guy and bring my poor boss some cake..."

Eyes narrowed a bit when he heard Rufus' voice.
"Water...?" he asked, pointing at an empty glass. The footballplayer didn't wait for his boss' answer and turned away to fill the glass instead.

"Fine, I'm fine. Got my final warning at work because Mr. Valentine isn't that keen on me. So...one fuck up and I'm fired." Turning around he put the glass right next to the freshly baked pie (by the bakery, that is). "Aaa...and I had some thing for you..."
After rummaging through the pockets of his jacket he gave the other a small package.

"Not much...aa...you know the fucking drill. Congrats and stuff."

Something wasn't computing quite right in his mind. Agon found out about his birthday (had it happened already?) and so he'd brought Rufus cake. And apparently a present.

Agon. Cake. Present. ...Had he just fetched Rufus water?

Blinking as his mind tried to come to terms with the current situation, Rufus reached out to take the package he was offered. He looked it over, noting how it was wrapped and carefully tried to open it on his own. It took him a couple tries, but he managed to get the paper off and slid the object out of it to look.

A book. Rufus smiled up at Agon. "Thank you," he said, turning it over to read the back. It looked like a murder mystery. The smile grew a little bigger. He'd read it when his eyes were working a little better.

Wait. What had Agon just said before all that? "What happened at work?" The smile turned to a frown. He hated being here and out of touch.

For someone who usually remained calm no matter the situation he found himself in, Tseng was still quite anxious. He had been anxious since the day of the attack and had remained so; even Aerith couldn't bring him to completely release his anxiety. Though she was successful in helping him remain more calm on the outside, inside the Turk was still very shaken and upset. Unable to get the feeling of guilt out of his gut, Tseng walked at his normal, calm pace, mulling over all the things he should have done to save Rufus. They hadn't had so many disputes before, so the man couldn't help but wonder if it was due to all the new recruits. Some of them were dependable, yes, but Tseng just could not shake the thought that they would be better off with just the original crew. This of course, was not not his decision to make of any type ( ... )

"Tseeeeng!" Aerith huffed loudly when the Turk plucked the impressive onslaught of flower pots from her (admittedly sore) arms. "I can carry some of it ne!" her hands flung out in attempt to re-retrieve them even as he kept the flowers from her; but she immediately quieted down when she realized a few passing staff were staring at them. Aerith dropped her arms as her cheeks reddened in embarrassment, "Okay, okay, you win." she murmured, her lips turning up at the mention of Rufus ( ... )

After Agon had left, Rufus had managed to get in the shortest of naps. His dreams were full of pie and milkshakes, and Dark Nation trying to take them away while Basch demanded pie from his jail cell. The sound of somebody calling his name woke him up, and Rufus blearily opened his eyes to see Aerith at the door and Tseng behind her, looking as thought he'd been devoured whole by a garden.

"Hi," he greeted softly. After so many people, his voice was back to sounding as it had when he'd woken up before, something like a dying cat trying to gargle with sandpaper or something equally horrible.

Tseng just merely smiled as Aerith continued fussing at his side until they reached Rufus's room. Looking around the numerous stems and leaves in his face, giving Rufus the best smile he could muster. Immediately, seeing the man in such a condition cause Tseng an instant stab of guilt; he only hoped it had not been able to reached his features.

"Sir," the Turk nodded in greeting, trying to distract them, if not himself, from the impending gloom, "Is there any particular place you would like these?"
