How rude. And also, how does it make any sense to gatecrash a memorial full of ppl with frontline experience, with ppl who haven't had basic training?? I'm hoping for a twist, some ppl who weren't welcomed just want to pay their respects. Or something.
Too many bad action movies. Also an unhealthy dose of narcissism and a great deal of passion.
I still remember some current affairs show where they had this 'militia leader' who was quite convinced that his group's weaponry was better then the military's so they would be needed to defend the country from the invasion he was expecting at any time.
Or even don't realise that the training is important...
(I'm a great believer in human idiocy - a percentage of us can be relied upon to be very stupid, and each of us may fall into that category for different things. [Let's not go into some of the things I believed on face value when I was younger.])
I was guessing Chamcharan was a single planet or planetary system, possibly part of one of the two larger groups.
In things that may either be dialect differences or different intended meanings ... in "reciting his people’s prayer to the dead" I would say "prayer *for* the dead", unless perhaps the person doing the recitation is an ancestor worshipper?
Face palm. It was meant to be prayer for the dead but there was something running around in my head about there being two ways to translate the phrase. Perhaps it's both?
• to emphasis his points → emphasize (or emphasise, UK)
• discretely circling flotilla → discreetly > Unless they were circling as separate ships and not in formation... which I don't think you meant anyway.

Also, still fascinated by this city's architecture. And curious to see where the rest of the named folks turn up in this mess.
It seems odd to have a name for Chamcharan but not for the host government ...? Or is there one and I've misplaced it?
