Oh, Sunday

Jun 05, 2011 20:17

Today was "blah." It's been a long time since I've worked a full 8 hour shift on Sunday and I forgot just what it's like. Suffice to say, I was more than half-way through my shift before I got my first break of the day. Le sigh. I'm happy for the hours but I just need to get in the mindset of busy-busy for work. We pick up business pretty much from ( Read more... )

"Hold On" was my jam when I was 6 years old
...my mom used to play the wilson phillips cd that was on all the time when i was that age, lmfao, SERIOUSLY I ASSOCIATE THAT (and like, loreena mckennit, soraya, leann rimes xD) and i totally want to see the movie, everyone says it's quite fun - but thanks for the heads up on the kind of humor -- i was trying to decide whether i should watch it with my fam or not, lmao.

the day trips sound beautiful! I REALLY HOPE YOU GET THE CHANCE TO DO THIS and can find a way to make it work with your schedules/budget. (and please take pictures when you do o: )

i am still so damn excited for this royal crack-AU. /cheers you on!

It really is a fun movie, but unless your family was okay with, like, "Superbad" do not go see it with them. And I didn't even have the Wilso Phillips cd, I had the tape. The original. I swear I still have that thing around somewhere. Me=so very old.

I really hope we get to do it as well. And of course I will take pictures! I can get a little insane with pic taking. It's not so much that I'm good at is, as much as I am, "Oh, what a pretty water tower/tree/building." Seriously, when I went to Ireland, I took 900 pics in less than three days.

I am aiming to finish the rough draft of the secret-royal-crack-AU some time in the coming week. I have this odd little feeling it's going to turn into its own verse. Damn it.

i haven't seen superbad, but both of them sound like movies that i'd be fine seeing with my siblings but not with my mom and aunt, haha. which is good to know! and hahaha you're only a couple years older than my sister, so! (but that's amazing. ahh, nostalgia)

first; guh, so jealous of you having gone to ireland. i would love to travel, but i've never been out of the US/have only been to a few states other than the two i've lived in. and lmao, i do some photography, so i totally understand the whole picture-taking-to-extremes. I AM REALLY EXCITED TO SEE PICTURES WHEN YOU GET THE CHANCE TO DO THIS. (in fact, do you have any pics from ireland laying around? o: )

so exciting! and seriously, these things just get out of hand and take over, don't they? (...but as a reader/lover of all these verses, i totally do not mind. xD but of course it's a little different when you're the one writing it/it's taking your time)

Yes, it's def. a movie to see with siblings/friends and not, like, parents.

I have never really been off the East Coast with the exception of living in London for a month (July 2005) when I was in college (study abroad and loans, yay) and my my two week trip back to the UK/Ireland in 2008. But yeah, I can imagine with your illness it's just hard to travel. Heck, my mom only has issues with her feet and she can barely stand a 2.5hr plane ride. And all the FAR too many pictures from the trip in 2008 are under the "the trip" tag.

I don't mind writing the 'verses, and I have so much written just not posted b/c finishing things is not my strong point in terms of writing. I like writing/creating/researching the 'verses, I just wish I had more time/skill to, well, get shit done.

Bridesmaids is such an amazing movie, and lol I would expect with a producer like Judd Apatow, you'd come to expect a certain level of Comedic caliber? If that makes any sense. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR DAY-TRIP, YOU DESERVE IT. It sounds like it'd be tons of fun.

I hope you don't mind that I'm religiously stalking your posts about Prince Penk, I used to be very "EH" but group chats got the ball rolling on seeing him in a totally different light.

It is SUCH a good movie. Like, tears down my face laughing, but we def. had people in our audience who didn't know it was produced by Judd Apatow. I was just kind of like, "You brought your Grandma to see this? Really?"

And yes, I hope the day-trip will happen.

I just always sort of loved Penk b/c of his curly haired self, but honestly, the fic is more about Skip then Penk, since Skip is the one who goes, well, like this:

“You’re a prince?” Skip asked, trying to make sure he actually heard what Alex just told him.

“Technically, yes,” Alex said.

Skip held up a finger. “Hold on a second, I’m waiting for the Disney Musical Number to start.”

“Fuck you, Skip,” Alex said.

“Whatever you say, your royal highness,” Skip muttered.

Alex grimaced. “If you want to be technical, it’s Imperial And Royal Highness.”

“You’re shitting me.”

“I’m am the third youngest son of an Archduke, trust me, it’s my real title.”

“Archduke, like Hapsburg? Funny, you’re jaw doesn’t look that fucked up.”
