Rainy Days

Oct 03, 2009 14:09

I am feeling much better today. I stayed home yesterday and pretty much slept and coughed the whole day through. So we're going with exhaustion + lack of iron from period + cold+ really bad allergies = me missing pretty much a day and a half of work and hating my life. I forced myself out of bed and into real pants today. My mother told me to take ( Read more... )

I don't know if the casting for Nightrunner could ever live up to my standards.

Dude, I already drew what Seregil and Alec look like to me (which reminds me, I need to make of sketch of Alec and put it in color since I already colored Seregil).

Oh, the actual casting will never live up to the standards and images I have set in my mind, but this attempt is me trying to find the middle ground so to speak. It's basically people I can tolerate in said roles. It's just going to be so hard to find enough people to act as the Aurenfaie with all their different customs, looks, and cultures.

Yes, yes you do need to make a sketch of Alec and put it in color. I completely support this idea and sentiment.

Eleanor Herman's Sex with Kings: Five Hundred Years of Adultery, Power, Rivalry, and Revenge.

I have that book behind me. I read Sex with Queens this summer and she does a decent job, although not completely that objective.

Do rest sweety *hugs*

::hugs back:: I wore myself out after all the activity today but luckily have tomorrow to rest.

I've only done a glance over Herman's book since I am reading Weir's first. I think I will enjoy it, though I disagree with some of her assertions from the very first pages. I mean, I'm sorry, research I did in two weeks for a 12 page paper for my undergrad provided plenty of sources on concubines, wives, prostitutes and mistress in the Late Roman Period/Early to High Middle Ages period. Herman implies that sources on these subjects don't really exist until the Renassiance and that is just not true. (Roman Law is full of laws concering concubines and when it was re-discoved in the 12th Century, Canon Lawyers were all over it.) Still, it seems like it will be an enjoyable read and I know Herman isn't writing on Church/Clerical Concubinage systems so I can't criticize her too much.

See, I got the new album, reg version off amazon as an mp3 download for $3.99, which works much better with my budget and since I was debating on if I should but it. I'm glad I did.

In my mind Seregil is a lot more elven like than Ben Barnes but as average mortals go, I think Ben Barnes does well. ;)

Oh, I hope they have the fourth book. The fourth book is full on angst and torture, which I feel I should warn for, but is still a really good book. The third is my favorite though. You learn a ton more about the Aurenfaie in the third.

It makes me sad that they might not have the Tamir Triad, but I can understand since I know a lot of people who would protest to the content.

Glad to hear you're feeling better ^^

Oh, Sex with the Kings - I've been wanting to read Sex with the Queen too. One day - God know I have enough books to read currently >_

Thanks!

If I enjoy the Sex with the King book, Sex with the Queen is going on my Christmas list. Fiction wasn't doing it for me, so I'm just going to focus on the popular histories for a while. I'll just keep amsuing myself with my own fiction. And, well, Jane Austen, since I'm re-reading Persuasion. Again.
