Sadly, people like that are still around...and since I refuse to say, "I can't be friends with you because you're a Bush-supporting-conservative-republican" I just give them all a heads-up before I go on a rant.
All of the issues Bush brought up last night could be a lot worse but sadly, I mean, many people who watch the State of the Union are horribly uninformed. They're still many out there who think, "Oh no, the immigrants are taking our jobs away!" When in fact, the immigrants are working jobs they would never work in the first place. It's always been that fear and it's always been that way. It's funny, having read the anti-immigration crap from the early 1900s, it is the exact same as what is being spouted now. Energy really is a big issue, as is the US dependency on oil, doesn't matter if it's domestic or foreign. I just want to see the proposals that come out of this.

Immigration issues? It could be a lot worse. Look at the utter failure of multiculturalism in Britain and where that has led...
Energy? Having been a student of International Relations, I am so jaded about this issue, especially in regards to the US Gov't....
