it's been such a long time since I've written. I don't know why really... it's not as if I've been so wholly engrossed in school, in fact I've been quite the slacker lately. Have you finished it yet? I thought it was cool there was a character named Sabine, I couldn't help but think of you every time I saw her name. I started out liking Sabine, but by the end of the journal I didn't care for her much. I stopped being able to identify with her.

The Maud Roland thing is so subtle, it makes me wonder how it will be presented in the movie. I think it would be a difficult book to make into a movie - it seems like so much would be lost. I mean A.S. Byatt has created a whole universe - it's more than just a simple story.

I'm glad you suggested the book - it was a nice change of pace. I've been reading more period centered fiction.

I have less than 50 pages left... I haven't been able to read it the last few days, but hopefully, I'll finish my American Lit paper early tomorrow so that I can finish it tomorrow night ( ... )
