We fear things in proportion to our ignorance of them.

She is quite a beauty! I love the way you are able to catch her soul with the camera. ♥

And yes, ban the stupid people. Leave the dogs, cats, and other gentle souls alone. Just love them.

i wholeheartedly agree with this!

THS has quite a few pit bulls, although most are red level dogs as they were seized from above mentioned stupid people :/
all they require is a lot of work and a lot of patience!
i always take some time after work to come visit them and give them some love and attention :)
and we screen EVERYONE who wants to adopt there. we go through quite a painstaking process to evaluate potential adopters - to insure they are going to well equipped owners who know the breed and can rehabilitate them :)

our truly insane dogs are mostly german shepards...not pit bulls!
not even K9 officers will touch them...it's really sad :(

what breaks our hearts the most is the puppy policy. we are obligated by law to either not accept pit bull pups or accept and then kill them. it's the law, we'd get shut down if we ignored it. and it angers all of us there immensely :(

is molly a purebred pit bull? or is she a cross?
where did you get her?

Molly is an American Staffordshire Terrier, which is a close relative to the American Pit Bull; since she is related, she is under harsh legislation by the Ontario government, as you possibly very well know. This angers me considerably because she is a very people-friendly dog and extremely well-mannered around children. Jeremy's mother actually discovered her through an ad on Facebook, so Jer contacted the owner and we adopted her shortly thereafter ( ... )
