Ew. I think I've caught salmonella from the Peter Pan peanut butter recall. When my parents were over last night, my dad looked at our jar of peanut butter and said, "I think this is the lot that's being recalled." (and politely put the jar right back on the counter) We promptly tossed the jar without even looking at the lot code. Around 3am I

Yeah, I have two jars of PB, both with the lot number that's being recalled. One is already opened and mostly gone, so I assumed that one was okay. :-) The other was unopened...

I spent some time this morning trying to decide whether or not to open it and try it. I mean, what are the odds? And I spent $4 or so!

Then I read your blog post and decided $4 was not worth stomach cramps. :-) It's been pitched.

According to my local newspaper, you can mail the lid to Con-Agra for a refund.

"Those who purchased peanut butter with the product code 2111 can send the product's lid to ConAgra Foods, P.O. Box 3768, Omaha, NE 68103 for a refund."
