Two observations:
1. Vidding drives me NUTS. I love it like you wouldn't believe, but the tech involved makes me feel like a moron. I can't ever keep it straight, and I feel so stupid.
2. All creative flow comes from a place set in between anxiety (where we live re tech) and arousal (where we want to be re loving the vid). It's that knife-edge thing that is EXHAUSTING, and being technologically unable to work with your programs is even more crazymaking.

I applaud your saving money, but you're right: the more power you have, the easier it gets. Do your French Adventure. Vidding will wait, and prices will go down. :)

Thanks for this, its good to know I'm not the only one! It's especially frustrating with the current problem I'm having not knowing whether its caused by the way I'm ripping/compressing/encoding stuff, or whether its caused by the crapiness of my computer...

Heh, the prices going down thing is very true, but: I read this thing once that pointed out that if you go down this route you're never going to end up buying a computer. Because the prices are ALWAYS going down, so logically it's always best to wait another few months for that to happen...but then when you get to that point, logic dictates you should wait another few months for the prices to go down again...and then again...and then again... ;-)
