WHO: Luke, Ion and INDIANA JONES!!!
WHAT: Some good old-fashioned breaking and entering.
WHERE: Just north of the Market District, near where Indy saw the mural of the queen.
WHEN: Late in the afternoon.
(
If hanging out with Ion had taught Luke anything, it was how to recognize a library when he saw one. )

Moments later, he had done his best to contact Mr. Indiana Jones through the journals, since after all, he had promised.
It merely seemed wrong to keep a library all locked up. And there wasn't anyone to stop them here...
Of course, it had taken a very long time to convince Luke that this was the right thing to do, and he felt guilty somehow, because Luke was so worried--about Asch, about being on the island, about Ion, and to add more worries to that was unkind--but he couldn't help himself. They had to do something! Ion was a diplomat, first and foremost; that was an essential skill to have for someone in his position and he'd learned it very well. And it helped that he was so earnest, so small.
"Thank you for helping me to find it, Luke," he said, fiddling with his torn sleeve, smiling at nothing and everything. All that was left was to wait for Mr. Jones to arrive!

Sometimes he thought that despite all of the Nazi gunmen, wall spikes, bottomless pits and snakes, it was the research that was the hardest part of being an archaeologist.
When he got the journal message from Ion he was surprised. The kid had potential, that was sure, but he was only fourteen, and barely allowed to leave his room at the Inn.
"Hey there Ion... Whoah." He looked up at the building like it were the Holy Grail. "Yeah, that looks about right."

In the end, it turned out he didn't really need to be keeping an eye out anyway, since Ion jumped up like a puppy with no tail to wag as soon as someone called his name. Luke had to assume that was him. Still, he had to take his hand off his sword, which had been his first instinct when Ion stood up.
He was turning into Asch. That was scary.
"So, you guys want to try the front door?" Luke asked, with a feeling like he already knew the answer to that.

Sometimes his knees felt shaky.
"Mr. Jones!" he said, before quieting to let Luke speak. "I'm nearly certain the door will be locked, but..."

"I'll try the door. No use breaking in if it's a public library. If they have nothing to hide." He had a feeling that if he didn't try the door it would weigh on Ion's conscience.
He caught Luke's eye and nodded. "Keep an eye out, just in case."
Indy approached the building calmly. If someone was watching him he hoped it would seem like he was merely curious.
The wooden main doors were massive, thick and heavy, they probably would have made better walls. He placed his hand on the door handle, pressed down, and pulled.
The door caught on the latch. Locked.
