Truth be told, Demyx hadn't quite remembered the exact location of the cafe either. He knew the general area at least and he didn't have nearly as much trouble locating it as Miranda did (probably because he knew what to look for), but he still only arrived just before the woman did.

In fact, he was only inside the cafe for barely a minute when he heard the woman scream from outside.

With barely a second thought Demyx was back outside, expecting something absolutely horrible that would make him regret ever leaving his house in the first place -- only to find she had simply tripped and fell. Relieved it wasn't anything serious, the blond smiled slightly. "Hey Miranda." He greeted, extending a hand for her to take. "Need a little help?"

Miranda looked up when she heard Demyx’s voice. She blinked once, twice, and a third time, before she reached up to take his hand and pull herself to her feet. “T-thank you, Demyx…” Everybody really did look different outside of that cave, once they’d been cleaned up and were out of the mess of clothes that they were stuck wearing for days on ends ( ... )

It was almost strange to see Miranda outside of that dark, secluded cave -- but more than that, it was refreshing. Refreshing to know they were alright now. To know all of that was in the past, not just for Miranda or Demyx himself, but everyone who had been taken captive.

Demyx smiled good-naturedly and helped her up, trying his best to show her she was safe with him. "I'm doing alright." He replied. "How about you, Miranda?"

A few people walked by them and into the cafe just then, and it seemed to remind Demyx what they were here for. So, he padded back over to the door, held it open, gestured inside and smiled cheerfully as he said, "Ladies first."

Miranda couldn’t remember the last time someone in this place was honestly so nice to her. It was refreshing, if anything. At the Order, everyone always welcomed her home, and Jerry always made her breakfast with a cheery smile. The teenaged Exorcists were even always polite to her. Well, maybe not Kanda… but even he had his manners.

Here, it seemed like everybody was too wrapped up in everything that was happening. She didn’t blame them at all, though. Miranda wished she could be as wrapped up in it as them, and maybe find them a way home. But she wasn’t that useful. She was just lucky if she could make it through one day without falling on her face ( ... )
