WHO: Jade, Peony, and anyone else who drops by the Inn with Dist as a party crasher.
WHAT: Two recent (disgruntled) immigrants start planning the next steps in their investigation as an old "friend" draws near.
WHERE: At a table near the window of the dining hall in the Crimson Dragon Inn.
WHEN: Late morning.
(
Jade had 'picked' the table by the window, that is, he stared the previous occupants into leaving, because, when seated, you could feel a very slight breeze that did wonders to ease the stuffiness of the room. )
He still felt a bit stupid over the events of the morning. He hadn't expected that much of response to his silly scribble- And once the attention had started pouring in, it was hard not to respond to it all. Writing into a diary that wrote back was a good distraction from his troubled thoughts- Though doing so at Jade's expense probably hadn't been the best idea.
"Worse comes to worst, she's appearing at that ball next week."

Ah well, he had always ruled his own way- And it had worked well so far. Certainly better than his father, who had been horrible with relations and even worse when it came to maintaining peace.
"I can't take the credit for this meeting, it was all Jade's idea. I'm still trying to get my bearings- I'm a bit scattered at the moment, mostly wondering whats going on at home. if it weren't for Jade, I'd be a lost cause." The blonde laughed, leaning back in his chair. "I'm glad you could make it though, in person!"

He hadn't had a chance to shave in a couple days, and probably didn't smell the best. A couple of hours ago he was digging through a garbage heap, looking for old newspapers.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have assumed. I've been up all night, trying to find a library." Jade continued to look unimpressed, but he went on anyway. "I'm Indiana Jones, archaeologist and university professor." He held out his hand, hoping it would be well received.
He doubted it would.

He folded his hands on the edge of the table and leaned forward -just a little- : "Have you found out anything about thi s place? Where we are, what it could be?"
(OOC: I'm not sure people even shake hands in Malkuth. Peony, would you weigh in on that?)

"Wow, and archaelogist? You never told me that Indy. Is that why you wear that ugly hat?" Maybe in Indy's world it was uniform. He felt sorry for the man, the hat looked like it had seen better days.

Jade's features took on a vaguely distant expression as he continued and reminisced : "We have a lot of unexplored ruins in Malkuth, but few archaeologists. I remember when Luke, Guy, Tear and I had to find our way to the bottom of a huge underground structure mostly buried in the sand near Chesedonia. There were the most amazing murals etched on the walls, unfortunately I didn't know enough of the local history to be really able to understand them."

At least if anyone was going to figure it out, Indiana and Jade were two good candidates. He listened to the two, canting his head to the side as he waited before speaking.
"I'd have to say I probably will be least useful person at this meeting, I'm pretty limited in my knowledge. I'll try to do what I can though."

"I'm sorry Mr. Jones", he cut into the conversation as he moved to grab Peony before he ended up an undignified unimperial heap on the floor, "but I do believe His Highness requires some rest. I will return as soon as he is situated since he seems quite unable to make it up the stairs himself."
Throwing one of Peony arms around his neck, holding him firmly by the waist while he grabbed the diaries with his free hand, Jade started hauling his childhood friend up the stairs, swearing under his breath.

One moment he had been writing out of boredom, the next.. Well, it was like an explosion. All of a sudden it was HIM AND JADE, EVERYWHERE. It had been funny at first, then it had made him angry- And then.. The wine had made him feel nauseous, dizzy. He had been idly drinking while reading, pouring a glass without thought as he had tried to keep up with what everyone was saying.
He couldn't quite hear Indiana or Jade anymore, it felt like he was on a moving ship. The floor was pitching, and the lights seemed to fade in and out. How much wine had he drank? Or was it the flurry of writing? He could remember writing, but not exactly what.
He felt a strong arm haul him out of his chair, and he slumped against the figure. Whoever it was, they were moving him somewhere. "Jade?" He could hear his own slightly slurred voice, and winced. "Jade, I'm sorry.. I didn't realize how much I had ..drank."

Juggling Peony and the diaries, he managed to get the door to their room open, and dropped the books inside so that he could more easily maneuver the rag doll that Peony had become.

He tried to pull away from the Colonel, grabbing onto the door frame and pulling himself up straight. "I know you don't want to deal with me- You can go- go back downstairs."
