She wasn't sure how she felt about seeing him once more. Emotionally, she was still feeling quite overwhelmed from the mission. She'd never seen anything so horrific as that field of corpses-- she'd never had her emotional and physical state questioned so much. Having to rush through it had been-- She was getting lost in her thoughts again, and who had that been passing by her window? Oh! She'd forgotten to go outside.

After shutting her journal away in a desk, she hurried outside. "Zidane?" She called, but it had been too late. She'd missed him, and closed the door behind her as she hurried after her friend.

"Zidane," she called out once more as she finally caught up to him. Seeing him now, she felt relieved and ... happy. To see such a familiar, friendly face after such an adventure was more than she could have hoped for, even if she wouldn't openly admit it. And it was him. She'd been so worried something would happen to him while he was away, even if she didn't understand why. Even in Lindblum, she'd been hurt by his careless ( ... )

{{Popping in very briefly, since he'll be in the district for another log}}

Whilst Larsa did not harbor particularly strong hopes when Princess Garnet had replied to his journal entry, the hope for a cure was still there. He felt he owed his admirable leader at least this chance at healing his sight.

The boy had decided that turning up empty handed would have been extremely rude, especially since Princess Garnet was giving him an item of great value in context. Thusly, dressed prim and proper, he had gone to the florist and hand-selected a bouquet for the Princess.

Lilac asters for daintiness, blue cornflowers for delicacy, white eidelweiss for noble courage, white magnolias for nobility and a singular purple iris for friendship. The art of floristry was only one of the many the Prince had to master.

Bouquet in hand, the boy headed off into the Housing District and soon sought out Princess Garnet.

Upon hearing her voice, Zidane immediately turned to its source, face breaking into a cheery grin. "Dagger!" In contrast, he was quite unfazed by his rescue mission into the jungle. Giant wolves? Fields of corpses? Crystals that blinded whoever touched them? Oh well. He'd experienced worse. Much worse. And that other team-- Cross Marian's team-- they'd been so much the worse off. He was just glad they'd managed to free them. The losses weren't for nothing in the end.

Their time apart had given him thinking space, at least. He'd come to terms with the fact she was not exactly the same person he'd watched disappear into the sky on that airship, what felt so long ago. That was okay. They were still friends, and he'd prove to her he wasn't who he used to be.

"You look happy about something," he teased, the unspoken question of 'did you miss me?' weighing on the air.

Well, maybe he hadn't changed that much. Some things never did ( ... )

"Master Zidane!" He had recognized him from the rescue mission, but his reaction perplexed the boy. Nevertheless, he took it graciously in stride and gave a little smile.

"It is a pleasure to meet with you when the both of us are not covered in grime and death." He offered his free hand to him. The boy knew very little about a world without fixed rules of etiquette. This was his very first atmosphere where there was no protocol governing his behaviour other than the ones engraved in him from his own world.

Upon seeing Garnet, he fell into a bow.

Straightening, he creased his brow in confusion.
"Dagger?" He blinked, tilting his head ever so slightly. "I am afraid I only know you as Princess Garnet, your Highness." Offering her the flowers, he smiled an innocent, boyish smile with no ulterior intent behind it.

"These are for you, a symbol of my gratitude for the medicine you offered me through our journals for Mr. Kent."

Huffing, she averted her gaze in response to Zidane's comment. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of knowing that she was happy to see him and luckily for her, she didn't need to, or think of some remarkable comeback ( ... )
