There were such interesting things on this island. The people had been quite enough to suit Mockingbird's fancy up until now, but since he had seen the curiously cultured creature speaking over the journals, he couldn't help but take an interest in the non-human denizens of Rivelata. What powers did the dark, cute one hide in its strange anatomy

He'd heard the sounds, he'd smelled the scents of battle, and he'd sensed the unsteady air.

He was just floating around, but he was alert.

He turned around slowly, not dropping his guard one bit even with the friendly tone. There was no trusting with that kind of tone. Courteousness could be a farce.

"Such courtesy you have."

"Courtesy where courtesy is due," he answered.

He wouldn't approach yet, not when the trust of such a finicky and intriguing creature was on the line. Although its ghostly appearance - more evident in person than it had been in the book - was slightly off-putting. Ghosts didn't bleed, after all.

"I told you, didn't I, that I meant no disrespect? That was sincere. I'm overzealous with my love sometimes, that's all."

Instead, he sat on his knees, his hands politely on his lap.

"If you will permit me, I will introduce myself. My name is Toto Sakagami. Please regard me kindly."

Darkrai turned his head slightly in disdain. "Human names are of no importance to me. I am not one to use them. But since you have mentioned it on your own, it will be in memory. However, do not get your hopes up that this is a sign of complete acceptance on my part, I just have no choice since you have mentioned it."

"My apologies. I have a title, if you would prefer it. It is the one given to me because of my nonhuman nature."

He did not rise. It would be a sign that he assumed they were on equal terms, and as far as the creature was concerned, they certainly were not. he would have to wait to move freely.

"Nonhuman, you say?" Darkrai echoed, a little surprised and partly interested.

If this guy was being sincere like he'd said, then that piece of information would certainly get his attention. Darkrai had only met a few of those kinds of people in this weird island, and there were so few of them.

He smirked. "A title... Such frivolities seem useless to some but in my opinion they are words that hint how much people fear you. So... What would yours be?"
