The sound of the whip was enough to force her to pause nearly a block's distance from the house. It was loud enough that it caught both her and Alakazam's attention; and it kept it as it got louder as they approached. Definitely the house where Erza and Lucy lived, she deducted, but as soon as she got close enough to find out, it had stopped ( ... )

Yes, yes she does. jigglingkeys February 20 2010, 09:11:31 UTC
For all the battles Lucy had participated in over the last few months, the truth was that she was not a warrior, and would likely never have the instincts of a true fighter like Erza. Case in point, when she heard the footsteps behind her, her first instinct was not to grip her weapon and ready herself for a potential attack, but rather to turn slowly to glance at the person who had found her ( ... )

It's okay, Lucy, Auntie Shirobara is here to help. <3 sei_what February 21 2010, 01:01:35 UTC
The hug was not unexpected, but the motion was quick enough she barely had time to brace herself for the weight her arms were taking in. Through it, though, she managed to remain upright, and returned it, tightly. Not the sort of desperate tight almost clinging Lucy was doing, but tight enough to let the other girl know she was here for her, she felt for her. She was surprised at the lack of tears shed, however.

And that... that spoke of Lucy's inner strength more keenly, she thought, than anything else.

She doesn't know what to say... Sei pondered over that one for a short moment, piecing her next statement together carefully. She didn't want to push Lucy over any edges, after all.

"I will admit," she began, slowly, quietly, murmuring from somewhere near Lucy's ear. "That while I am aware something has your entire household upset... I don't know what it is. Don't feel obligated to say anything you don't want to or don't think you can handle at the moment, but perhaps that would be the first place to start. And don't worry about ( ... )

"T-that man," Lucy's voice trembled as she spoke, but she kept it from becoming a sob. Gray would want her to be strong...and more importantly she wanted to be strong. "That man they caught, Sylar? He claims he got his ice powers by murdering my friend Gray. My friend may be dead, and what's worse is I can't even help! Erza and Lluvia, they're leaving me out of the loop..."

She squeezed Sei tighter for a moment, burying her face in her neck. "I'm so weak, I think they feel like they have to protect me. They don't trust me. The worst part is, though, that they're probably right."

Gonna say this is either before Sei arrives or after she leaves thetitania February 20 2010, 17:16:15 UTC
While it wouldn't be evident to anyone that didn't know her, there was a change in Erza's usual posture. A tenseness to the way she walked, a defeated slump in the set of her shoulders. Gray was dead. The thought had been her only true thought for quite a while, magnified by grief and anger. Gray was dead, had died before her arrival, and there was nothing she could do. Nothing she could do to change it, to make it better. The thought clawed at her, an ever-present sorrow that had prevented her from reaching outward, from seeking comfort in her pain.

She'd wandered throughout the city aimlessly today, and eventually found her way home. The sound of a whip cracking gave her an odd, overwhelming sense of dissociation for a moment, and gradually she relaxed. She did not greet Lucy, merely sat and observed quietly. Buneary unfurled itself from her shoulder and climbed down to sit in her lap.

How about after Sei? jigglingkeys February 21 2010, 07:34:26 UTC
Talking with Sei had helped Lucy sort through some of her feelings, and so she found herself in a calmer state when Erza arrived. Turning, Lucy was glad for her restored composure, because she knew Erza well enough to know that however horribly she was feeling at that moment, the other woman felt twenty times worse ( ... )
