Jade straightened his glasses as he gazed at the sign in front of the teahouse, "Moonflower Teas"... it sounded foreign, but that hopefully meant that it would be a little more sophisticated than the dingy hole-in-the-wall coffee shop where he he met with Nagi. Coffee. Jade shuddered at the thought.

He had to admit he was looking forward to this meeting more for the chance of having a good cup of tea than for any information that he might gather. Even on his Dreadnought, he was served better tea than the swill at the Crimson Dragon Inn. Truth be told, the tea leaves came from his own personal reserves, but sometimes his cook would take the initiative to boil it, leaves and all... and it was still more palatable than what he had in Rivelata until now.

He walked in, folded his hands behind his back, and looked around, trying to spot the man, Youji, who had asked to meet him here.

[ooc: Sorry, it took me forever to get a hold of Peony, we will start without her and she will come in later.]

[ooc: No problem. Should I reply to your comment like this, or do we take turns in the log itself?]

Youji was leaning back in his chair, having chosen a strategically located table. He could see anyone who came in through the door, as well as being able to view the counter out of the corner of his eye. His sunglasses were neatly folded on top of his journal, which rested on the table. He only knew what Jade looked like from his portrait, and hoped the man looked relatively similar.

The bell attached to the door tinkled as a new customer walked through, and there he was. Youji recognized Jade immediately and was thankful for it.

Hoping to catch the Colonel's eye, he discreetly raised a hand and gave a half-wave. It wasn't overly obvious or very enthusiastic, but he hoped it got the point across. He certainly wasn't about to call the other man over. That would have been stupid.

[ooc: Whatever you prefer, I don't really mind either way.]

Jade nodded slightly to Youji to acknowledge his discrete wave. There was no reason to be more conspicuous than he already was, with his strange uniform and his crimson eyes... not that he would shed the uniform, it served to remind him of who he was and what his place was in the only world that really mattered ; not that he could do anything about the startling color of his eyes. At least, with so many foreigners arriving every day, that particular feature of his was not as strange as it had been on Auldrant.

He made his way to the table and pulled up a chair without a word, sitting down across from Youji and signaling the waiter that he was ready to order.

The smell of tea was simply wonderful.

"His Highness, Peony IX was feeling quite peevish tonight. He should make an appearance as soon as the Royal Temper has died down."

I probably shouldn't have mentioned to Peony that I got a ham sandwich for lunch...

Youji nodded, completely understanding. "As I had things to speak to you about as well, it might be for the best to let His Highness come on his own time ( ... )
