The day finally came. The day when he would finally get an adventure. Tidus had been stuck in this place for too long. He had been itching to get out and actually do something. After Utena told him that she would accompany him out to the jungle, that need to explore grew bigger. Now, finally, they were going to have some real fun. He had decided to wear clothes of a darker green for this trip. Firstly, it would be easier to sneak Utena out; secondly, he wouldn't be too conspicious while out in the jungle. Everything was perfectly planned out.

Once the boy got to Utena's place, he quietly climbed into the backyard, hiding himself in some bushes. Tidus heard Utena whispering to him, and was just about to come out and grab her when Rangiku came.

Oh, snap.

"This wasn't supposed to happen! Rangiku was supposed to be out!" Tidus thought angrily. Now they needed a change of plans. How on earth would he get Utena out from right under Rangiku's nose? Tidus bit his lip. Rangiku would certainly lead Utena back into the house, and lock her in ( ... )

Man, that was easy. She'd just have to wait for Tidus, and...she couldn't really help but jump when she heard Rangiku. That was unexpected. And horrifying. "Ah! O...oh...oh, hi, Rangiku-san!" Utena put on her brightest, most guileless smile.

"Gee, I didn't think you'd be back so early...oh boy, how'd I get out here anyway? It's pretty cold and all, you know? I should probably go back inside, huh?" The pink-haired girl backpedaled toward the window, briefly wondering how quickly she'd be able to scale the wall and get the hell out of Dodge before Rangiku flipped out on her--the lack of cutesy nickname had not escaped her notice.

Tidus grabbing her arm was pretty detrimental to this, however...and what was he wearing? "Oi, Tidus!" She dropped her voice to a whisper, hoping Rangiku wouldn't notice. "Leggo...she's gonna kill me."

Anthy stood at the next window over, serene as a paper doll. There was something intriguingly novel about watching a story unfold before her, taking the privilege of the audience- though it jarred the scene, to think of Utena as a character therein.

She suspended disbelief, as she was learning to do, and spectated.

(Utena was the hero, of course. But who was the villain?)

"C'mon! We're halfway through this!" Tidus whispered back. He clenched his teeth. This wasn't over yet, nope. He still had plenty of energy to continue sprinting all the way to the forest. He was almost sure that Rangiku wouldn't catch up. Well, unless she had some power which enabled her to run really fast or something.

Despite the cold chill he felt slowly creeping up his spine, Tidus continued running. He didn't think that Rangiku could be that scary. She sounded just like an angry, out-of-control Lulu.

But they couldn't stop now. Not when there was a chance. Still grabbing Utena, Tidus continued running for his life.

Utena couldn't even manage a proper response for a moment, she was so startled. Instead, she stared blankly at Rangiku, and the only indicator that her words were being heard was the angry blush spreading over Utena's face. She tried to say something. It came out as a strangled, frightened noise, but she managed to get enough of her composure back to yank her arm out of Tidus' grasp. He was going to make things really, way worse than they already were.

Princes didn't run away. They stood their ground, and defended their actions, wrong or no. "I wasn't gonna be gone long, Rangiku-san, honest! I just wanted to check the place out! And I couldn't let Tidus go by himself!" She stood up, back straight, fists clenched at her sides. Nevermind that she was completely out of her league, this time. She wasn't going to just roll over and take being yelled at. It wasn't her style. "If he'd gone alone, then something could've happened, and no one would've been around to help."
