Aya sighed, hands in his pockets as he walked along with Ken. Soccer really wasn't his thing - he hadn't learned how to play when he was younger, and then he'd quit having time for anything other than his job at age eighteen. He glanced at Ken, walking slightly in front of him, and wondered why the other had asked him to play, anyway. He seemed oddly content, here, almost at home... which was good in a way and unnerving in a way. He still said nothing, just turned his face to the ocean and the beach.

Ken also looked toward the beach. "It's pretty, isn't it? The water looks so blue." He felt peaceful, something he really hadn't felt since Yuriko--no, he couldn't even remember the last time.

Aya nodded, then glanced back at Ken. "It's quiet here, at the moment," he said softly. A peace that might not last, but for the first time in months, he wasn't living day to day, hour to hour, not knowing which breath would be his last.

It was relaxing, even liberating, and he allowed himself a small smile.

"Kinda wish it would stay that way," Ken said, watching the waves wash over the shore wistfully. He then grinned and hopped down from the walkway along the waterfront, toeing off his shoes in the sand.

"C'mon!"

Aya followed and took his shoes off as well, enjoying the cool sand beneath his bare feet. He raised an eyebrow at Ken and crossed his arms, though his expression was somewhat amused.

"I suppose you're going to run circles around me," he said. "You know I'm not good at this game."
